No spare key? Here’s how Chamberlain’s myQ can help this school holidays

The school holidays have arrived and it’s finally time to enjoy that well-earned holiday! You had a friend lined up to stay at your house and take care of your four-legged family member, but they came down with the flu the day after you left!

Luckily, you have a myQ compatible garage door opener, making it easier than ever to grant access to your home to a trusted friend or family member to help out.

Using the myQ App, your chosen loved ones can enter your home through the garage.

Chamberlain’s myQ technology allows you to monitor, operate and control your garage door opener all from the myQ App. Through the click of a button on your smartphone or Apple Watch, you can open and close the garage door, or even schedule when to turn the lights on. One of the most convenient features of myQ, however, is Guest Access.

With myQ Guest Access you can invite up to five users to link up to your garage door opener, allowing you to share limited control of your garage door.

myQ Guests are able to open and close your garage door and enter your home through the garage, without the need for a spare key.

But how do you set it up?

It’s quick and easy to set up a myQ Guest. Both of you will need to have the myQ App, and then all you need to do is send an invite through the App for the lucky recipient to accept.

How to send an invitation:

1.Tap the Menu

2.Tap myQ Guests

3.Tap Add Guest or +

4.Enter your first and last name and tap Next

5.Enter the Guest’s name

6.Enter the Guest’s email twice to confirm

7.Select Relationship to the person that is being invited

• Family
• Friend
• Other

8.Tap Send in the upper right corner to send the invitation.

How to accept the invitation:

1.Log into your account on the myQ App

2.Tap the Menu

3.Tap the account name at the bottom of the Menu

4.Tap Account Invitations

5.Tap the Pending Invitation

6.Tap Accept

Once the invitation is accepted, guests will be able to view and operate your myQ connected garage door opener. When they no longer require Guest Access, you can easily remove the user from your profile.

With your Guests set up on your myQ App and taking care of things at home, you can now enjoy your school holidays worry-free.
